Eddie and Esther Melgar, who operate the Edible^® store in Vacaville, California, dished the sweetness behind operating a business alongside your spouse.

Experienced entrepreneurs themselves, the Melgar’s previously owned and operated 30 Sprint wireless stores and now have a desire for a fresh venture, which led them to Edible^®.

“Edible is just so refreshing,” Eddie Melgar said. “We bring happiness to people.”

And this couple has a sweet love story of their own. After meeting at just 15 years old, they will be married 24 years this year. What’s their secret to working together so fruitfully?

“You can’t be each other’s boss,” Esther pointed out, advising, “share the same goal and just have fun.”

The Melgar’s Edible^® location is a family affair as their two sons oversee the store’s management. Their eldest son, a student at Sacramento State, will help with employee development. The youngest, a high school student, will assist with employee training.
